Electrical Repairs & Troubleshooting

Dead outlets, tripping breakers, flickering lights and faults that only show up sometimes - traced properly instead of guessed at.

How this work is approached

Most electrical problems are symptoms rather than the problem itself. A breaker that keeps tripping, a light that flickers when the fridge kicks on, or half a room that goes dead usually points at a loose connection, an overloaded circuit, or a damaged device somewhere on the run.

Repair work starts with testing: the circuit is traced, the fault is located, and the cause is explained before anything is replaced. Where a repair is not the right answer - because the circuit was never sized for what is plugged into it - you get that answer instead of another temporary fix.

What this covers

  • Dead outlets, half-dead rooms and circuits that have stopped working
  • Breakers that trip repeatedly, and the overload or fault behind them
  • Flickering, buzzing or dimming lights
  • Outlet and switch replacement, including worn or loose devices
  • GFCI and AFCI devices that will not reset
  • Loosened connections at devices, junctions and panels
  • Faults found after a storm, a leak or damage to a wall
  • Diagnosis of intermittent problems that only appear under load

Good to know

  • If the problem is intermittent, note when it happens (time of day, which appliances are running). That detail usually shortens the visit.
  • Repairs on a home that has aluminium wiring, older fuse boxes or ungrounded receptacles get a straight assessment of the options - not a patch that quietly ignores the underlying condition.
